As our inaugural season approaches, we wanted to give you more of an introduction to the players who will represent Lansing Common on the field this summer. Today, it’s time to get to know Munir Sherali.
What position do you play and what do you think Lansing Common fans will enjoy most about the way you play?
I play as Winger and Center Attacking Midfielder. I think the fans will enjoy the creativity and flair I bring to the game. I am always willing to create chances and help the team win.
What is the #1 thing you are hoping to work on with the team this season?
I am hoping to work on building the team chemistry and getting wins. We are a brand new team and some of us have played with each other so that will help as we progress throughout the season.
Both you and Shady Omar went to Haslett and are at Eastern Illinois now. How much does it help when joining a new team to have a guy you are comfortable with and know from other teams?
It is very helpful. It is a confidence booster when you have an individual or group of guys that you are close with and are willing to achieve the same goal. These people help you stay motivated as well.
What was your favorite moment you have ever had on a soccer field?
My favorite moment I ever had on the soccer field was scoring a game-winner against Bradley University in my collegiate debut.
What hobbies do you have when you aren’t playing soccer?
When I am not playing soccer I like to spend time with family, friends, and play FIFA.
