Lansing Common to Host Pride Night June 26

Lansing Common FC is partnering with rebelhaus fitness, The Salus Center, and Lansing United to host Pride Night on June 26 as part of a home match against BiH Grand Rapids. The Pride Night celebration falls on the 6th anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision that recognized marriage equality.

Limited edition Pride Night t-shirts designed by a local youth artist will be available for purchase, and Lansing Common players will wear special Pride Night warm-up tops, which will be sold following the match. Proceeds from both will be donated to rebelhaus fitness to support the launch of its queer and trans youth fitness community.

“We’re really excited to be working with such great partners to host a Pride Night celebration in recognition of five decades of Pride and in support of rebelhaus fitness and Salus Center’s wonderful programs to allow everyone to live a life that is authentic, safe, and full,” said Eric Walcott, President of Lansing Common Football Club. “We founded this club to lift up our community, and this month every goal scored has raised more money to get us closer to the vision of a community free from barriers.”

Throughout June, the Lansing Common Supporters Group and The Ransom, supporters of Lansing United FC, have teamed up on a Prideraiser campaign to raise money for every goal scored by both teams this month to support the Salus Center, Lansing’s LGBTQIA+ community cent. So far $85 per goal has been pledged, and through just two matches a total of six goals have been scored, totaling $510 in grassroots donations with seven matches left this month for both clubs.
